Only Level 10 Performs Biannual SEO Checkups and Fixes
Level 10 Is The Only SEO Company That
Checks/Fixes Problems Twice A Year
Quick Version:
Most SEO companies just add new content, constantly, non-stop for months and years on end… without circling back to see if it’s actually WORKING. Level 10 has a “612 Optimization,” which means we stop creating content for two months per year (every 6th and 12th month) to evaluate how things are going. During this time, we update your website with current best practices (technology-wise), and look for pages that are not performing well–and fix them. The result is SEO that generates (a lot) more leads over time.
Full Version:
Last year we performed a website audit for a roofing company in Colorado that had 515 Service Area pages. That is a LOT.
If those pages were properly built and optimized, they should have been KILLING their competition. Sucking up all the leads out there in Colorado.
But they weren’t.
For a Service Area page (or blog page) to work, it has to pass these 3 criteria:
- It has to exist.
- It has to be optimized properly.
- The content has to be interesting, relevant, and engaging.
Their 515 Service Area pages did exist–so that’s a good start.
But they were NOT optimized properly–in most cases, not at all. That’s a disaster.
Which means that Google won’t really ever know (or care) if the content is engaging–because poorly optimized pages are never even considered for ranking. That’s because Google won’t/can’t/doesn’t know WHERE the page is relevant, and WHAT the page is for.
If you want to learn more about optimizing Service Area pages, listen to my podcast on websites & SEO.
This message is not about optimization.
It’s about “How in the hell did their SEO company build 515 Service Area pages that DO NOT WORK… without ever stopping and trying something different?”
In my opinion, this is marketing malpractice.
The poor woman I was talking to was in tears by the time we finished our Zoom call. She realized that she had paid well over $100,000 over the course of four years… only to realize that it was all wasted.
Look, SEO is hard. There are rules that govern it, and if you follow them, you can generally expect good results (i.e., leads).
But there are still factors that can cause GOOD SEO to not work as well as it should.
In other words, even if the pages DO exist, and they ARE properly optimized, and they ARE engaging–sometimes they still don’t generate the traffic or leads we expect.
That’s why Level 10 is the only agency to implement a “612 Optimization.” Every 6 months, we STOP all content creation, and go back and audit what is working, and what isn’t working.
There is ZERO CHANCE we would create 500+ pages that don’t work. After 5 months of adding content, we would audit the results, and adjust things if necessary.
And trust me: There are ALWAYS pages that underperform. It’s the nature of the beast.
ALSO during the “612 Optimization,” we are doing major technical updates on your website–injecting the latest and greatest “best practices” that we’ve innovated over the previous six months into your website so that it runs better, breaks less, and generates more leads.
Example:
One of our Client-Partners got a major lift recently as a result of their 612 Optimization.
They had been averaging 36 organic quotable leads per month–not too shabby–but after the 612 Optimization, the number went to 82 the very next month. The cost per lead shrank to $63.
So, what did we do?
- Rewrote every landing page on the website. (32 total)
- Updated internal linking from landing pages in Blogs
- Updated Meta Data (Meta Titles + Descriptions) with new keywords and page-specific GEOs
- 2 New window Core Pages were added
- Image Titles updated as necessary
- New widget gallery installed (more flexible)
- Review aggregating page and code added to site
- All Core Pages will be updated in the next 612 Optimization
These things do cost money; which is why we SHUT DOWN the content creation during 612 Optimization months and redirect the resources to optimization.
It’s sharpening the saw. It’s absolutely necessary.
And Level 10 is the ONLY SEO agency in the remodeling and home services space that does it.
You’re welcome!
